Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Posted on 06/13/2024The Regional Manager will oversee all aspects of online and store setup, merchandising, and operations to ensure a seamless and successful launch and operations of Sharaf DG in Riyadh. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to execute launch plans, drive sales, and establish the brand presence in the region. Your responsibilities include strategic planning & setup of multiple stores in Riyadh and/or any other subsequent assigned regions, overseeing merchandising and operations, ensuring operational excellence, driving sales growth, market share expansion & driving profitability in the Saudi Arabian market, and maintaining high customer satisfaction across the Region.Key Performance Areas:Regional P&L OwnershipOwnership and accountability for Store profitability - This entails a comprehensive understanding of the various revenue streams, cost structures, and market dynamics influencing the financial performance of the stores. You will be responsible for devising and executing targeted interventions aimed at enhancing revenue generation, optimizing margins, and managing costs to deliver superior store profitability.Devising and implementing strategies to maximize both top-line revenue and bottom-line income/margins. This may encompass initiatives such as product assortment optimization, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and cross-selling opportunities, tailored to the unique market landscape of the assigned region.Optimize costs across various operational facets to achieve maximum profitability, as measured by Profit After Tax (PAT).Store Setup, Merchandising, and Warehouse Organization:Lead the setup of new stores, including fixture installation, and merchandise placement, ensuring alignment with brand standards and local customer preferences and obtaining Government licensing if required.Manage warehouse organization and stock inventory for both the assigned stores and the central warehouse, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient inventory management to support store and online operations for the region.Oversee the merchandising process, including product assortment selection, pricing strategy, and promotional displays, to drive sales and enhance the customer experience in-store and online.Team Leadership, Training, and Hiring:Recruit, train, and develop store teams, including managers and associates provided by the brands, to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.Take responsibility for the hiring process of all store roles including brand promoter, conducting interviews, selecting candidates, and ensuring a seamless onboarding process.Provide leadership and direction to ensure a cohesive and motivated team prepared to execute launch plans and deliver on business objectives.Cascading of Regional KPIs into all store employees and regular monitoring of performance, offering regular feedback and coaching to maintain and exceed SDG performance benchmarks.Ensuring strict adherence to Saudi localization laws and regulations pertaining to hiring practices, fostering a diverse and compliant workforce that aligns with the Kingdom's employment regulations and cultural sensitivities.Operational Excellence and Compliance:Establish & align operational processes and procedures to ensure efficient store operations, including inventory management, cash handling, and compliance with company policies and procedures while also ensuring adherence to local regulations.Monitor store performance metrics and defined KPIs for the region, such as sales, conversion, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction, and implement corrective actions as needed to drive results with an objective of store profitability.Ensure all stores adhere to specified operational standards, including cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols, to provide a consistent and high-quality customer experience.Market Analysis and Strategy:Conduct market research and analysis to understand local market dynamics, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences.Develop and implement market entry strategies, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns along with Merchandising to maximize brand visibility and capture market share.Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and execution of launch plans & managing ongoing business.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and CEO office team to provide updates on store launch progress, address challenges, and seek support as needed.Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing requirements, and labor laws in the new market.Partner with legal and regulatory teams to navigate any legal or regulatory challenges and ensure adherence to company policies and standards.Serve as a local ambassador for the Sharaf DG brand in the new market and drive engagement and brand visibility with the local authorities and customers.RequirementsProven experience of handling multiple retail stores with P&L accountability.Experience of having worked closely with merchandising and operations.Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabian retail market and consumer behavior.Graduate/bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field is desirable.Native Arabic speakers are preferred. Saudi local with knowledge and experience in Riyadh market would be an added preference.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and navigate ambiguity and uncertainty associated with launching new stores and online in a new country.Strong governmental networks would serve the role holder well.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Willingness to travel across KSA as needed for store launch activities.Familiarity and residence in Riyadh would be ideal.
