The Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of transport and infrastructure projects focusing on quality management, commercial performance, and project optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and engineering with proven experience in operations management within the engineering consultancy industry.Your new role: what's involvedOperational Excellence & Quality Management:Oversee day-to-day operations within the Transport & Infrastructure business unit ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all projects adhere to regulatory standards and client expectations.Continuously improve operational processes to enhance project delivery and efficiency.Commercial & Financial Management:Ensure the commercial success of the business unit by closely monitoring project budgets, costs, and profitability.Review and analyze project financials identifying areas for cost optimization and improved performance.Work closely with the finance and commercial teams to manage contracts, invoicing, and commercial risks.Project Performance & Engagement:Review and assess the performance of ongoing projects providing guidance to project managers and teams to ensure timely and successful delivery.Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation addressing any issues or bottlenecks to keep projects on track.Enhance project engagement through effective communication ensuring alignment between project teams, clients, and stakeholders.Assist and support the setup and management of Inter Company Agreements (ICAs).Process Improvement & Strategy Implementation:Develop and implement operational strategies to improve project performance focusing on efficiency, client satisfaction, and overall business growth.Identify and implement best practices across the business unit driving innovation and continuous improvement.Support senior management in strategic planning for the Transport & Infrastructure division.We'd love to hear from you if you have:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.10 years of experience in operations management within the engineering consultancy industry with a focus on transport and infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of project management methodologies and commercial management principles.Experience in assisting and supporting project leaders in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards including contractual commercial risk/opportunity and change management.Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Commercially minded with experience in budget management and financial oversight.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on quality and client satisfaction.What's in it for you?What if we can have work-life balance?
