Registrar: The Media Majlis at Northwestern University in QatarThe Media Majlis at Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) is seeking a Registrar to oversee all aspects related to objects and collections. The Registrar will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing processes related to loans, exhibitions, packing and shipping, storage, insurance, legal, and risk management for all digital and physical assets. They will also be in charge of on- and off-site digitization, communication with lenders, and coordination of the museum's CMS-DAMS (Qi by Keepthinking).Key responsibilities:Lead all aspects of object and collection management.Coordinate and oversee exhibition loans, including paperwork and Qi records.Conduct digitization of objects and digital care, including metadata and storage.Organize conservation efforts if required.Requirements:Master's degree in museum studies, curatorial studies, or related field; Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience considered.Experience with material related to media, journalism, communication, digital media, etc.Minimum of two years of museum or archive experience in registration, collections management, or touring exhibitions.Fluency in English, exceptional teamwork, and time management skills.Comfort with new technology, including CMS-DAMS, and ability to travel.Experience working internationally and desire to participate in conferences and publications.Highly desirable:Arabic fluency or proficiency in Urdu, Hindi, Tagalog, or French.Experience in Qatar or other Gulf States, journalism, communication, or media.The Registrar will report to the museum's director, collaborate with curators, and contribute to long-range planning, budgeting, and strategic projects. This position may involve student supervision, travel, and participation in conferences and teaching activities.Northwestern University offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
