Company Overview: Our client is a prominent player in the renewable natural gas sector, committed to innovative and sustainable environmental practices. Their core focus is on transforming biogas, which is typically released into the atmosphere, into valuable energy resources, thus contributing significantly to environmental preservation throughout North America.
Role Summary: We are actively seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to enhance their team. This pivotal role involves refining operational efficiency by meticulously analyzing operational data and implementing strategies to boost productivity and cost-effectiveness in renewable natural gas production.
For this opportunity a background in anaerobic digestion is required, and candidates who do not have this will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
Monitor, assess, and optimize operational systems through data analysis and trend identification.
Ensure that facility operations adhere to safety, environmental, quality, and efficiency standards.
Lead and implement process improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability.
Work collaboratively across teams to resolve issues, enhance process performance, and maintain safety and efficiency.
Research and apply new technologies aimed at improving production and operational reliability.
Oversee significant project initiatives, coordinating with consultants and contractors to ensure effective execution.
Develop, revise, and maintain operational documents and standard operating procedures in line with industry regulations.
Participate actively in health and safety meetings and keep training current.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with a Professional Engineering designation preferred.
At least 5-10 years of relevant experience in the RNG or biogas industry, with expertise in anaerobic digestion.
Proficiency in process optimization and control, including familiarity with Aveva PI and AI for data analysis.
Knowledge of SCADA systems, ladder logic, and related technologies.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Availability to travel as needed across the US and Canada, with a valid driver's license.
