Job Description:Senior Utilities Design EngineerLocation: QatarParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Utilities Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will lead and innovate in designing advanced utility systems, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive excellence in infrastructure design.What You'll Be Doing:Develop conceptual and detailed engineering design for utility corridors, master planning of utilities, utilities cross sections, writing technical notes, and coordination of existing and new utilities infrastructure.Coordinate with other engineering sections and prepare alternative solutions to issues and problems.Review feasibility studies of utility corridors and easement requests for proposed and existing utilities.Conduct technical reviews of improvement plans, technical specifications, construction estimates, and design calculations for compliance with approved design criteria and good engineering practice.Be conversant with Qatar Utilities Authority regulations such as MM, PWA, KME, KMW, QAF, Ooredoo, Q-Rail, and other relevant authorities within the Gulf region.Provide support for the Construction Department in resolving technical design issues and clarifying design drawings.Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers.Supervise design plan and profile production for small-scale projects.Review plans and profiles for technical compliance with design objectives and clarity for construction.Develop simple workflows/templates to enable efficient repetition of design.Apply advanced engineering principles to complex analytical models.Check design deliverables from less experienced engineers.Develop the baseline design schedule for a small team at the start of each task.Track progress of task assignments vs original baseline schedule.Contribute as a productive and efficient team member to meet project deadlines.Serve as the primary interface with clients on all matters relating to work assignments for one engineering discipline.Mentor junior staff on technical aspects, including the potential to conduct on-site training of personnel.What Required Skills You'll Bring:Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree or higher preferred) in Civil Engineering.12+ years of related design and management experience of utility systems for diverse infrastructure projects.Professional Engineer registration required (PE, Peng, or CEng).Thorough knowledge of current technology to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects.Ability to mentor staff on engineering software applications and processes.Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner to meet objectives.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in commonly used complex engineering software and understands how engineering principles are applied in the software.Understand QA/QC standard practices and procedures and guide staff.Proficient in non-standard detailing and develop complex sketches and detailing for plans.Good understanding of preparation of design reports.Must be registered with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) in Qatar.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:Provide input for design estimates for projects.Support the preparation of competitive technical and commercial proposals.Assist in the initial Level of Effort necessary to cover all work within the proposed scope with minimal supervision.Ability to review, identify, and propose mitigation to risks within the proposed scope.Ability to clearly define and provide technical queries to clarify scope ambiguities.Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/NoneParsons is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
