We can lead by transforming performance, delivering for our clients at scale and speed, raising standards and making a difference.Globally, we operate 113 offices in 45 countries with over 13,000 employees.Job DescriptionTurner & Townsend's Energy & Natural Resources Division is a leading provider of Program Management, Project Services, Project Controls, Contract Services, Consultancy and Advisory Services to the resources industries covering:Conventional and Low Carbon Energy (CLC) - protecting energy security and sustainable re-purposing of hydro-carbons inclusive of sustainable fuels, conventional oil, gas and power, and decarbonizationClean Energy - the generation of carbon free renewable energy inclusive of wind, solar, hydro and nuclearTransmission - the movement of energy such that its sustainable, accessible and affordable to all, inclusive of all transmission and distributionMining - the sustainable mining of commodities that provide the foundation for the energy transitionWe support projects throughout the whole lifecycle from pre-development, through feasibility, concept selection and definition, FEED, delivery of facilities, processing, distribution and REVEX/OPEX investment.Turner & Townsend is located throughout the UK where we support clients across all sectors. The Energy & Natural Resources sector plays a key role in our Vision 2025 strategic plan for the UK.RequirementsExperience and credibility in the Energy & Natural Resources sector, with an existing knowledge of, and relationships with, both national and international investing clients and an understanding of their ongoing investment portfolio, both in CAPEX and sustaining capital spend.Initial focus on growing our Conventional and Low Carbon Energy service offer (delivering service excellence, leading teams and building capability), but with flexibility to support the overall market, including work winning.Technical understanding of the services that will be offered to clients (Estimating, Cost Management, Project Controls, Project Services, Contract Management, Risk Management, Project Management, etc).Candidates should expect, and be able to, travel throughout the UK, to support the growth of the Energy & Natural Resources business.Key objectives:Increase market share and influence, within the Energy & Natural Resources sector.To ensure that the Conventional and Low Carbon Energy business is effectively structured, engaged and led.Develop a position for Turner & Townsend as a natural partner within this marketplace.Create a consistent and profitable business stream through the right ambition.Identify and understand areas of opportunity and development.Enable and achieve financial targets and continued growth within target markets.Key requirements of the role:To be an inspirational leader and strategic thinker.To build strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members. This will include identifying potential acquisitions and key talent.Develop the respect of the team through track record and leadership qualities.Set ambitious yet achievable targets for the Energy & Natural Resources sector.Effectively manage risks and maximize commercial returns, applying business acumen.Inspire people to give their best and to challenge the norm to find better ways to achieve, by valuing and nurturing the diverse skills and perspectives of our people.Lead by example and not be averse to being hands-on in creation and delivery.Act as a team player and be highly visible within the business.QualificationsProfile and key competencies:You will be self-motivated, driven by the goal of establishing Turner & Townsend as the #1 project management and commercial consultancy for Energy & Natural Resources projects in the UK. As a Director, you will also be responsible for developing and delivering on a business plan to meet ambitious annual growth targets.You will have:Extensive experience working as a client and/or consultant in development and delivery of Conventional and Low Carbon EnergyA proven track record managing large projects and/or programs of workPreferably demonstrated experience managing Conventional and Low Carbon Energy sector projectsOperated as a consultant and delivered major capital programsExperience in variety of methods of procurement and forms of contractA strong and current understanding of regulatory and permitting requirements and industry trendsExperience in business development and building teamsAn established network within the power industry supply chainExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenThe ability to guide and lead internal teams, offering a strong point of focus for the business.Proven success in advising, securing, and delivering on behalf of clientsQualificationsDegree qualified in construction and/or engineeringAdditional InformationWhy T&TT&T is a leading global property consultancy, with around 3,000 employees in the UK and over 6,000 globally.
