The Director of Evaluation & Improvement provides leadership to all THHS shelter sites by directing service delivery for the Case Management and Housing Support Services programs. Additionally, they are responsible for program development, assessment and evaluation across all THHS programs.Minimum Qualifications:Degree in related field, MSW degree is preferredCertificate in First Aid/CPR, Crisis Intervention and Conflict ResolutionAlternate combination of education and experience may be consideredExperience and Knowledge:At least seven years of significant work related experience including case management and clinical supervision of employees, program development and implementation and program managementExperience working with marginalized individuals and/or people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use challenges and other barriers to housingFamiliarity with a wide variety of resources and supports in the Greater Toronto areaExtensive knowledge of housing and homelessness, and systemic issues related to housing, poverty, addictions and mental healthAdvanced knowledge of relevant legislation, Occupational Health & Safety Act and RegulationsSkills and Capabilities:Proven leadership capacity and strong interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with a range of people in diverse situations (clients, colleagues, partner organizations, funders)Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain collaborations with colleagues from multiple external community organizations, including funding agenciesSkilled at seeking common ground in navigating challenging issues and constructively managing conflict to create win-win solutionsDemonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentialityDemonstrated analytical, problem solving and evaluation skills and ability to investigate issues and initiate corrective actionAble to proactively recognize potential risks and issues, respond with solutions and engage others in implementing changeSuperior written skills and a high level of proficiency with the Internet, Microsoft Office suite and online database toolsStrong sense of integrity with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibilityEffective organizational and time management skills - self-motivated and disciplined self-starterDemonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a teamAbility to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening not older than 6 monthsAbility and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilitiesThe Salvation Army offers accommodation for applicants with disabilities in its recruitment process.
