RoleA member of the Management Structure of Brewer Smith Brewer Gulf Interior Design Division, expected to run a design portfolio of projects independently, adhere, enforce and maintain agreed standards within the project teams and provide assistance to the Head of Interior Design and Senior Management to improve the overall performance of the Interior Design Division.ResponsibilitiesGeneralThe applicant should have a high level of skill with the following software:Sketchup 3DEnscapeAutoCADREVITAdobe Software SuiteEnquiries and proposalsAssist the Head of Interior Design or Partners in providing all necessary information required to submit fee proposals such as overview, scope, and brief.Review agreed fee proposals to understand and be fully aware of scope and deliverables.Appraisals and briefProvide a detailed appraisal of the project requirements as issued by the Client in consultation with the Head of Interior Design.Feed information gained from the project RFP and appraisal into the draft design brief for review and approval.Concept and SchematicSet up a project programme with the Senior Architect - Interiors for approval.Develop the interior design direction and convey it through mood boards, flavor statements, and materials palettes in collaboration with the Lead Architect.Work closely with the Group Head of Design to understand key architectural design principles and strategies.Engage in client liaison and sub-consultant coordination.Present concepts and manage approvals.Coordinate design team and sub-consultants.Manage client approvals, design development, and local authority compliance.Ensure project tracking schedules are current and submitted weekly.Manage value engineering and potential variations to the Consultancy agreement.Detailed designOrchestrate the detailed design package and resolve outstanding issues requiring client input.Oversee submissions for building permits and compliance.Review design information to maintain Concept Design intent.Review and approve issued information for each project stage.Select a suitable procurement route and assist in compiling the procurement strategy and programme.Review tenders, propose successful tenderers, and recommend to the Client.Post contractMaintain continuous communication with pre-contract staff, Client, and sub-consultants.ManagementLeadershipSet objectives for Junior ID's and monitor progress.Lead by example and promote teamwork, helpfulness, and hard work.DelegationProvide opportunities for staff development through delegated responsibility.Support successful delegation through appropriate reporting structures.MotivationSupport staff professional growth and encourage responsibility.Provide staff with opportunities for development.GeneralRegularly review staff performance.Review standards of draughting, letter writing, and report writing.Ensure timely review and approval of timesheets.Authorize staff leave and track sick leave/absenteeism.Monitor staff timekeeping, punctuality, professionalism, and appearance.
