Canadian Adventure Charters (CAC) is seeking an experienced Chief Coastal-Offshore - Arctic Geophysicist to lead our innovative team.This is a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art research and exploration vessels, including ice-classed and icebreakers, in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.PositionChief Coastal-Offshore GeophysicistWhy This Role?At CAC, you will:Lead groundbreaking research and exploration missions.Work with cutting-edge technology and vessels.Contribute to environmental sustainability and help Canada achieve its netzero target.Key Responsibilities:Negotiate and secure long-term geophysical survey contracts (6 months to 10 years) for ice-classed and icebreaker vessels in the Canadian Arctic and Antarctic waters.Ensure high-quality and professional execution of all projects in accordance with our Integrated Management System and project-specific documentation.Oversee the acquisition, quality control, interpretation, and reporting of marine geophysical data.Conduct geohazard assessments and integrate geophysical, environmental,and geotechnical data.Monitor data quality on survey vessels, maintain survey logs, and liaise with Party Chiefs and survey staff.Prepare comprehensive reports adhering to contractual specifications, CAC standards, and Quality Assurance documentation.Train and supervise junior staff during data acquisition and reporting.RequirementsMinimum of 10 years of experience in negotiating geophysicist hydrographic survey contracts for ice-classed and icebreaker vessels.Proven track record in data acquisition, quality control, and geophysical data interpretation.Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental protection.Proficiency in using IT systems for data interpretation and reporting.Understanding of Shipwreck surveying, mapping, documenting data and recoveryExcellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with CAC colleagues, clients, and governmental bodies.Why Join Us?At Canadian Adventure Charters, we offer unparalleled experiences in some of the world's most remote and fascinating regions.
