Your contribution!

As the ideal candidate, you will possess a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector and extensive experience in managing projects from Request for Proposal (RFP) award to Notice to Proceed (NTP). The Director will lead all development aspects of projects and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of renewable energy projects, from planning through to construction commencement.

Your day-to-day!

Provide strategic direction and leadership to the executive team in the implementation of renewable energy projects;

Oversee the entire project advancement from RFP award to NTP, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards on hydro, wind, solar and battery storage projects;

Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle;

Manage expectations and ensure alignment between stakeholders regarding project objectives, milestones, and deliverables;

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project delivery;

Proactively address any issues or deviations from project plans to keep projects on track;

Manage local project partner relationships from PPA signature to COD;

Manage a team of up to five development professionals responsible for driving project execution in the Québec Region;

Support the origination/pre-development team to identify, negotiate, and close project offtake opportunities and provide support for RFP submittals;

Lead and support Innergex specialists with the following tasks:

Completion up to full land control;

Obtain the social acceptance of the project in building and maintaining community support;

Obtain all the required permits and authorizations for the construction and financing of the project;

Ensure continuity of projects transitioning to construction by managing the local stakeholders, community investors, and supporting the Construction team through the construction period on all the development aspects (Permitting, real estate, community relationship, etc.);

Support the Operation-Asset management team on demand on various development issues.

Your skills, our requirements!

Bachelor's degree in engineering, administration, environment, project management, or a related field;

Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects;

Good understanding of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, BESS and/or hydroelectric power;

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders;

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities;

Prior success driving development processes and procedures (real estate, environmental, permitting, interconnection and transmission, finance, and outreach), development timelines, and the stakeholders involved in successful project development;

Experience in developing projects within Eastern Canada markets;

Experience in partnership management and contract negotiations;

Experience in coordinating studies and project development activities with cross-functional resources, peers, and outside consultants to ensure project is progressing on schedule;

Knowledge and experience with key project contracts: Power Purchase Agreements, Generator Interconnection Agreements, Land Agreements, and Partnership and Purchase and Sale Agreements;

Analytical skills;

Ability to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time in multi-disciplinary project teams;

Strong organizational skills and thoroughness;

Excellent understanding of power project development processes and procedures (real estate, environmental, permitting, etc.), timelines, and stakeholders;

Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.

The position can be based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters.

This position is a M3 level.
