Job Title: Area Sales Manager - FMCG Location: Dombivili & Kalyan Department: Sales & Marketing Annual Package: INR 7.2 lakhs to 9.6 lakhs Plus Incentives Job Summary : The Area Sales Manager (ASM) in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is responsible for achieving sales targets and managing a team of sales representatives within a defined geographic area. The ASM will develop and implement sales strategies, monitor market trends, manage distributor relationships, and ensure optimal distribution and visibility of the company’s products. Key Responsibilities : Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute sales plans to achieve or exceed sales targets. Identify growth opportunities within the area and implement strategies to capture market share. Analyze sales performance data and market trends to adjust strategies as needed. Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales representatives. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to ensure high performance. Ensure that the sales team has the necessary resources and training to meet targets. Distributor/Dealer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, and key customers. Monitor distributor performance and ensure alignment with company goals. Manage stock levels and ensure the timely delivery of products to distributors. Market Analysis and Reporting: Gather market intelligence and keep abreast of competitors' activities. Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management. Monitor and report on sales trends, challenges, and opportunities within the area. Customer Relationship Management: Maintain excellent relationships with key clients to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of issues. Brand Promotion and Visibility: Ensure optimal product visibility and placement in retail outlets. Implement promotional activities and campaigns to drive sales growth. Coordinate with marketing teams to roll out area-specific marketing initiatives. Compliance and Budget Management: Manage sales budgets and expenses efficiently. Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards. Key Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 6-10 years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role. Skills : Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in sales forecasting and data analysis. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of the FMCG market and distribution networks. Other Requirements : Willingness to travel within the assigned area. Valid driver’s license. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Achievement of sales targets and growth objectives. Market share increase within the assigned area. Distributor and retailer satisfaction scores. Team performance and development. Effective budget and resource management.
