Overview Reporting to the Vice President and Chief People Officer, the Director, Learning and Knowledge Management will be responsible for the development and execution of an enterprise level learning and knowledge management strategy. As the senior leader for learning and knowledge management, the Director is responsible for establishing knowledge management practices, a governance model that includes corporate learning, technical communications, and content management technology platforms. As custodian of corporate business policies and rules related to corporate business information, the Director is responsible for governance and implementation of corporate policy and directives to ensure consistent application across all frontline and business partner audiences. Responsibilities Responsible for planning, directing, and managing the activities and resources required to respond to the knowledge management needs of the corporation. Provide leadership and support for the overall management and delivery of knowledge management solutions, including the development and maintenance of relevant business content and learning programs. Accountable for meeting corporate operational technical training requirements, ensuring technical proficiency of MPI staff and business partners, through the development and delivery of learning and technical communication strategies. Accountable for the return on investment for corporate knowledge management, the creation of a framework and metrics for the ongoing evaluation, performance management, and return on investment for KM programs and solutions. Ensures a direct link from knowledge management to business value. Accountable for the governance and effective use of the corporate learning management system, digital learning authoring tools and standards, and related processes. Provide direction and oversee the delivery of learning and development programs, projects, policies, and standards. Assess workforce capabilities and builds learning strategies to build the workforce. Responsible for all activities of a director, including management of a significant operating budget, participation in strategic planning, long term human resource planning, budgeting for special projects, and improvement initiatives. Responsible for hiring, performance management, and workforce planning, and staff development planning, including a focus on succession planning. Qualifications Degree in business, human resources or related area. Certificate in Adult Education or Knowledge Management. Formal training in Project Management is considered an asset. Ten years of relevant, progressive experience with responsibility for learning and development within large-scale, organizational transformations. Ten years of relevant experience in adult education or knowledge management. Experience developing and implementing change management methodology at the enterprise level. Thorough knowledge and understanding of learning and knowledge management practices. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively and demonstrate diplomacy. Advanced communications skills and interpersonal savvy to present information effectively to all levels of the corporation. Well-developed coaching, facilitation and presentation skills.
