Finance and Management Accountant

Our client, a proudly South African Company and a leading company within the Tourism, Leisure and Financial Services sector. based in Cape Town is currently seeking a Finance and Management Accountant.Our client owns some of the premier Tourism, Travel & Leisure Brands in South Africa. The Tourism and Travel arena is well established and has been operating successfully for over 35 years through brands such as Thompsons, Pentravel and Hylton Ross, while the recently acquired Springbok Atlas group has been established for 65 years.Role description:The overall responsibility of the position entails general accountant functions as stipulated below. The overall responsibility of the position is to provide accurate and timeous information to executive management to enable correct policy decisions, improve the operational efficiency and ensure the ongoing and sound profitability of the company.Requirements:• Bcom/Bcompt and SAICA Articles• Oracle or Similar ERP System• 5 Years' experience as accountant /management accountantDuties:Financial Reporting:• Preparation and submission of accurate and timeous monthly management accounts• Reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts• Assist with preparation of annual budget and forecasts• Backup for critical day to day processing• Review of weekly independent subcontractor payroll• Audit preparation• Monthly calculations and submission of VAT returns and EMP201's• Control and processing of fixed assets• Cost analysis of variances• Ensuring intercompany balances reconcile and are in balance"• Approvals such as payment releases• Preparation and submission of monthly cash flow projectionsGovernance and Controls:• Responsible for assisting the FM with the external audit.• Ensures legislative and statutory requirements are met.• Ensures IFRS compliance in daily functions.• Ensures that internal controls are adhered too, to minimise risk and financial loss.
