About the role: The Director, Insights, Analytics & Forecasting is responsible for defining and leading AstraZeneca Canada (AZC) Oncology's industry leading insight generation, analytics & forecasting organization This is a key role within the Oncology Business Excellence (OBEX) organization which leads, in close partnership with the brand and sales teams, efforts to ensure resourcing processes are in place to enable data-based decision making, advise the business strategy and execution and forecasting capabilities, ultimately to optimize launch excellence, inline brand performance and future financial planning. Drives near and mid-term forecasting capabilities. The position requires an independent and strategic demeanor to ensure both a data and insights driven organization, using strong working relationships and efficiencies both within AZ Canada (AZ Canada, regions and global) and with external strategic partners. As well, this team partners with the regional and global Insight, Analytics & Forecasting teams, with the central IBEX team on platform-based capabilities (Large commercial database (i.e. IQVIA) management and reporting and digital/omnichannel implementation, etc.) and with a number of functional capabilities beyond the commercial team to include Access, Diagnostics, Medical Affairs, Finance and Compliance. Lead a team with the following capabilities and responsibilities: Lead a team to develop, deliver and implement market research and insight plans that, in partnership w Sales & Marketing, support Oncology strategy planning and inline execution; lead evaluation and synthesis of key data and insights spanning a host of different source data, ensure appropriate and timely delivery of data-based decision-making tools; ensure delivery of the annual P&L, contribution and sales targets. Thoroughly understand the current environment and be able to identify launch excellence challenges, anticipate change in customer behaviour and seek growth opportunities. Develop and collaborate with brand/sales leadership to supervise and recommend improvements to increase productivity and efficiency to optimize field team performance. Adopt an analytic approach to improve the data integration and optimize data-based decision making at all levels through appropriate longitudinal decision-making reports and performance dashboards; ensure collaboration amongst teams to ensure efficient use of centralized data platforms (including omnichannel), dashboards and tools to ensure efficient sales team planning and performance reporting. Ensures cohesive and defined relationship between the Canadian Insights, Analytics & Forecasting and the Barcelona-based regional and Global Insights & Analytics (GIA)/Forecasting teams; including platform sharing, forecasting and Insights generation responsibilities. Ensure effective relationships with strategic partners and adherence to compliance norms. Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) in a quantitative or scientific field (business/finance, economics, statistics, natural sciences or related subject area) field is preferred Extensive experience (8+ years) in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a focus on oncology, market analytics and forecasting Demonstrated experience in driving a data/insights-oriented approach throughout a dedicated organization Application of advanced analytics in the business and/or scientific domains Proven track record of developing & implementing successful forecasting models, generating actionable insights to drive business planning & strategic decision-making Advanced written and communication/presentation skills with the ability to convey complete analytic findings to diverse/senior partners; strong eye for business consultancy capabilities Strong leadership and proven track record of managing/coaching/inspiring high-performance teams in the insights & analytics are Working in multi-franchise model with demonstrated ability to manage multiple analytic-type teams and associated resource planning and trade-offs Great People want to Work with us!
