Description:
Radiation therapists operate machines, such as linear accelerators, to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to the region of a patient's tumor. Radiation treatment may shrink or eliminate cancers and tumors. Radiation therapists are part of the oncology teams that treat patients with cancer.
Responsibilities:
Comply with the written operating procedure on how to identify the patient correctly and ensure that the correct procedure will be performed before any procedure is undertaken.
Ensure the radiation dose is delivered in accordance with the treatment plan.
Keep continuous observation of the patient and operating parameters of the equipment during radiation procedures.
Perform random checks of the medication stored in the units perform random or expiry of the medication.
Documentation of patient information, assessment, and medication administration in patients MR.
Requirements:
Graduate from recognized and accredited school of radiation therapy with minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital.
Valid DHA license and BLS certification.
Dosimetry experience is mandatory.
Experience with Cybercide and Zomotherapy machines is mandatory.
Proficient in English and Arabic.
