Join a team of Media and Public Affairs Officers who provide effective media, social media, corporate communication and public affairs services across the state to promote the positive work undertaken by the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

As a Public Affairs Officer, you will have the opportunity to influence the behaviours of Queenslanders through strategic marketing and long-form campaigns, engage with community members to deliver organisational updates and sustain the relationship between community and QPS.

The core capability requirements for this role are: • Develop, implement and evaluate media management, corporate communication, public affairs and marketing strategies on behalf of regions, commands and divisions of the QPS.

• Identify proactive media, marketing and promotional opportunities for the QPS.

• Provide specialist advice to members of the QPS on media, social media, public affairs, marketing and corporate ID issues.

• Produce news releases, social media information, speeches, internal and external online and printed publications and marketing and promotional materials.

• Represent Media and Public Affairs and the QPS at meetings with clients and stakeholders of the QPS.

• Lead and supervise small teams to ensure effective initiation, development and implementation of media management, public affairs and marketing projects.

• Prepare news releases, talking points, speech notes and briefing material for use by QPS executives or the Minister.

Role Requirements Qualification • Nil required however qualifications and/or experience in journalism and/or public affairs in a large geographically dispersed organization will be considered favourably.
