As a Junior Copywriter, you must be a creative problem solver and adept at negotiating key deliverables with exceptional quality and proficient speed. You love the written word for its power to persuade, and you know how to simplify complex ideas into highly creative, action-oriented content and solutions. You contribute to the development of program strategies and create communication solutions that are creatively compelling, on strategy and motivate desired consumer behaviour. You're also a lover of all things related to advertising and marketing and an even bigger fan of popular culture, keeping yourself up to date with all the latest trends and developments in current affairs, lifestyle, tech and the arts.ResponsibilitiesEnvision and facilitate the development of fully integrated advertising, digital, social and content projects by providing ideas and copy that are compelling and on-brand.Regularly attend and participate fully in briefs, product group meetings and client presentations; attend client briefs and research as needed.Collaborate fully with Art Directors, Designers and Production to translate marketing strategies into innovative, viable, and benefit-oriented creative concepts and formats.Synthesize key project information and apply the resulting knowledge in developing effective and imaginative copy concepts that support the project's objectives.Present concepts to clients for discussion and approval in a compelling and authoritative manner to sell your ideas.Support creative concepts by providing verbal and written rationales as requested.Examine copy consistently throughout a project to ensure it is cohesive and reflective of the brand tone of voice.Qualifications1+ years of agency experience in CopywritingMust have a portfolio demonstrating exceptional creativity and the ability to create ideas that will motivate consumersDemonstrated ability to rationalize, judge and organize ideasMust have a strong passion for the businessThe CompanyMcCann Worldgroup Canada is committed to a diverse workforce as an Employment Equity employer (Women, People with Disabilities, Aboriginal Peoples, and Visible Minorities) and aims to maintain an inclusive and equitable workplace where employees feel valued, respected, and supported.
