As a Senior Purchasing Analyst in our construction Procurement Group, located in Mississauga, ON will be reporting to the Procurement Manager. This position will be typically responsible for large, complex packages and large construction orders with priority on subcontracts.Role and General ResponsibilitiesResponsible for tasks varying in nature and urgency, such as:Bid package preparation, issue and expediting.Project vendor list development.Issue RFP'sBid evaluation.NegotiationIssuing PO's, contracts or change orders using Procurement SystemsWork closely with Project Managers and Responsible EngineersCreate, negotiate long term construction service and sub-contracts.Work with Team Lead to refine the projects purchasing needs.Work directly with expeditors to correct delivery slippages. Communicate delays and schedule conflicts with Project TeamCollaborate with relevant "key working relationships"; such as Client procurement representatives and vendors, to ensure all procurement activities regarding PO's and contracts have been addressed and covered off.Close out O's and contracts once all contractual and procedural requirements have been met.Manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule conflicts arise.Administer and electronically distribute specified reports to Clients and/or engineering staff members.Expected to work with all levels of the organization in a cohesive manner.Typically responsible for large, complex supply and installation as well as service packages and large fabrication orders.Mentor to junior buyers.Qualifications and Education RequirementsDegree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or other applicable area8 - 11 years of construction industry experience preferredPrevious experience in an EPCM environment in the domestic oil and gas industry is an asset.Highly proficient in MS Office including training with vendor and database software.Proficient in MS word, excel spreadsheets, outlook, database, and word processing software.Proficient in the English language (Reading, writing, and speaking) Preferred SkillsClear understanding of procurement procedures/workflows and how they relate to Client-specific and/or project requirements.Familiar with implementing principles and tools such as escalation clause and rebate clause etc. utilized in negotiating long term agreements.Strong understanding of subcontracts and service-related principles such as: supply, installation or service contracts.Experience in end-to-end management and negotiations of change orders.Outstanding organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines.Outstanding problem-solving abilityProven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.Accepts coaching, knowledge and support from more experienced staff.Familiarity with designing process, inventory, project management, and arithmetic abilities to perform accurate calculations.
