Valsoft continues to grow, and we are looking to hire an ambitious, highly motivated and driven Senior M&A Associate to continue our journey of global expansion!

The successful Senior M&A Associate will work in an extremely entrepreneurial environment and will be responsible for building highly successful relationships with software business owners, brokers, and the like, with the ultimate goal of capital deployment and investment.

You will be a full-cycle M&A professional with salesmanship and charisma for business development activities but also have analytical and financial authority to manage and execute the due diligence process. This is an incredible opportunity to manage, invest, and deploy large capital at an extremely fast pace, with the potential to eventually build, grow, and manage an M&A team.

What your day will look like:

Identify M&A targets that align with Valsoft's growth objectives, aiming to generate $200M+ in buyable revenue opportunities per quarterEmploy a proactive approach, reaching out to potential targets through various channels, conducting exploratory calls, and fostering relationships with owners and sell-side advisorsEvaluate and assess target acquisitions against Valsoft's criteria and determine realistic valuation expectationsConduct a comprehensive pre-acquisition due diligence encompassing both commercial and financial aspects in collaboration with the Montreal teamNegotiate deal terms, ultimately aiming to achieve $15-20M per year in acquired revenues with the support of the Investment PartnerPerform other related duties as assigned

About You:

At least a Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is essential2-4 years + of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, M&A, or Corporate Development within a Capital Market setting is essentialAn MBA would be advantageousStrong business development and financial analysis skills, including building financial modelsWillingness to travel up to 25% of the timeCFA or CIIA (asset)Familiarity with a buy-and-build model and experience/knowledge in VMS, software, and technologyDemonstrated thirst for learning about different businesses in diverse industriesPossesses a growth mindset, consistently seeking personal and process improvementStrong interpersonal skills to build and maintain genuine, long-term relationshipsEntrepreneurial mindset, capable of independently navigating challenges and setting up operations in new countriesDemonstrated leadership skills with the potential to build, grow, and manage a local team in the futureAt least a professional level of English, both written and verbal, is essentialLegally authorized to work in Canada
