This is an on-site position (5x a week in the office) in Downtown Vancouver. Candidates must be in British Columbia to be considered for this role. In this role, you will be joining a mining company with a global presence. They are a publicly traded firm and have offices around the world. This is a completely new position on their team, and you will be responsible for their IT infrastructure in their Vancouver office. You will provide user support for their users in other offices around the world, as needed, but Vancouver will be your priority. You will work closely with the IT Manager and will provide user support (for remote and in-office users), and support with their Windows applications and servers, and networks. They currently have a hybrid environment, and you need previous system administration experience for this position. They are a Microsoft shop and are using Windows 10 and Office 365. What you will do and how you will make an impact … (-) You will work on a variety of tasks and projects at once, and you will be an IT generalist. You will take over the IT infrastructure from the MSP that they are currently working with, and will have a mix of responsibilities - from Tier 1 to Tier 3 user support, to systems and network administration. (-) About 50% of your role will be user support, and the remainder will be a mix of system and network administration. (-) You will provide user support for Office 365 and Windows products. They are using Windows 10 and are looking to move to Windows 11. (-) You will maintain their routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs and escalate issues to the Senior Network Administrator if needed. (-) You will remotely support their sites around the world as required and will work collaboratively with the global IT team. You will provide coverage for any issues that come through during your work hours (9am - 5pm PST).
