Responsibilities:
- Review coating procedures and specifications to align with industry standards and project requirements.
- Assure test and inspection requirements for protective coatings are compliant to code, scope of work and customer specifications.
- Monitor/witness paint systems pre-qualifications.
- Conduct inspections of coating application processes to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Perform visual and physical inspections of coated surfaces to identify defects and meet quality standards.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of coating activities.
- Collaborate with project teams to address any coating-related issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of coating materials and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Conduct tests and measurements to verify coating thickness, adhesion, and other key properties.
- Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from project specifications.
- Stay updated on industry developments and best practices related to coating inspection and quality control.
- Report quality issues relevant to protective coatings to Quality Manager.
- Solve coating related issues during project execution.
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in a relevant field such as engineering or materials science.
- NACE 02 / BGAS 02 / SSPC 02 Certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of overseas experience as QC Coating Inspector on Capital Projects (preferably in Oil & Gas) after the certification in the construction / manufacturing / oil and gas sector.
- Proficient in reading, writing and speaking the English language.
- Strong knowledge of coating materials, application processes, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, such as ISO, ASTM, NACE, SSPC.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and analyze coating defects.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with project teams and report inspection findings.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Physical ability to perform inspections in various work environments and weather conditions.
