Saudi Aramco is seeking an Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst to join the Technology Strategy & Planning Department (TS&PD).
TS&PD provides critical and timely information and develops execution strategies to align Company projects with value-driven deployments in high-impact areas that offer the Company a significant, distinctive, and sustainable competitive advantage in its core businesses. TS&PD also ensures that the intellectual property protection and management are coordinated with the ultimate objective of the technology strategy.
Your primary role will be to perform patent research to support various IP activities, including patentability search, freedom to operate, competitive intelligence, IP benchmarking, IP mapping, and other related tasks. IP experience in energy, chemicals, environmental engineering, or the heavy industrial sector is preferred, but not required. The IP Analyst will also support the development of Saudi Aramco's Intellectual Property portfolio (patents, copyrights, and trade secrets), including the analysis of invention disclosures and working with inventors and in-house IP counsels on patent prosecution activities.
You will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field and preferably a master's degree in Intellectual Property.
You should have at least 10 years of professional experience including at least 5 years of experience with in-depth patent analytics.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Conduct prior art search to support our customers in making patent-related decisions including patentability (novelty), freedom-to-operate/infringement, and invalidity. Conduct freedom to operate search.
Perform competitive and benchmark analysis of patents and commercial product landscape.
Prepare IP landscape reports to support R&D decision-making.
Perform IP analysis of Saudi Aramco Portfolio.
Support patent protection and other patent-related activities.
Conduct IP awareness sessions and training.
