Position Description

We are seeking a Fuel Research Specialist to join the Fuel Technology Division of Saudi Aramco's Research and Development Center (R&DC).

The Fuel Technology Division conducts research and technology development in the area of transport fuels chemistry and advanced engine technologies. Our research focuses on the co-optimization of fuel and engine systems, technology demonstration in collaboration with various stakeholders, and strategic transport studies across the road, aviation, and marine sectors.

The Fuel Research Specialist's primary role is to conduct innovative research on fuel properties and behavior in advanced engines, provide guidance and technical expertise, and foster the development of talent within the organization. Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will hold an advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.

You will have at least 8 years of experience in fuel chemistry R&D, including familiarity with the major chemical/physical processes for fossil fuel upgrade and separation. You will be able to demonstrate a strong record of publications. You will have strong R&D project management skills. You must have good interpersonal and communication skills. You will possess experience in providing technical guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues. You will be a self-starter with the ability to complete project goals.

You will have the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple duties and projects simultaneously. Experience of commercial process simulation and optimization software applications is preferred. Duties and Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Conduct high quality research on physical and chemical processes associated with upgrading oil-based transport fuels.

Study the effects of fuel chemistry on advanced fuel/engine systems to improve their efficiency and reduce their emissions.

Address the technical challenges associated with adopting novel fuel formulations in support of efficient, affordable, and sustainable mobility.

Prepare periodic progress reports and deliver technical presentations.

Mentor and oversee development of young engineers in the area of specialty.

Submit patents, write technical papers for peer-reviewed journals, and give technical presentations in international events.
