Job Purpose: The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing the successful execution of drilling fluid-related projects, ensuring that all drilling fluids and performance chemical systems are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client specifications. The Project Engineer works closely with clients, vendors, technical teams, and field personnel to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and safely.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and Coordination:Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for drilling fluids and performance chemical projects.Collaborate with drilling engineers, technical teams, and clients to define project goals, requirements, and deliverables.Coordinate all aspects of the project, including procurement of materials, equipment, and personnel, to ensure that project milestones are met.Drilling Fluids and Chemical Systems Management:Oversee the delivery and application of drilling fluids and performance chemicals for specific projects, ensuring they meet client specifications.Coordinate with the drilling fluids team to ensure that the appropriate drilling fluid systems are selected and optimized for each project.Ensure the proper storage, transportation, and handling of drilling fluids and chemicals.Budget and Cost Management:Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring that costs stay within the allocated limits.Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement them without compromising the quality or safety of the project.Report regularly to senior management on project progress, budget status, and any potential cost overruns.Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:Ensure that all drilling fluid-related activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that safety protocols are followed and that environmental standards are met.Manage risk assessments and safety audits, ensuring that potential hazards are identified and mitigated.Client Liaison and Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, vendors, and the project team, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for clients, offering solutions to any fluid-related issues that arise during drilling operations.Prepare and present regular updates to clients and stakeholders on project status, challenges, and achievements.Reporting and Documentation:Ensure that all project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, and final deliverables, is completed accurately and on time.Track project milestones, drilling fluid performance, and chemical system usage, and prepare detailed reports for senior management and clients.Continuous Improvement and Optimization:Identify areas for improvement in the project management process and drilling fluid systems, recommending changes that increase efficiency and reduce costs.Work with the technical team to develop new products, techniques, or methods to improve the performance of drilling fluids and performance chemicals.Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably in the oil and gas industry with a focus on drilling fluids and performance chemicals.Skills:Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, performance chemicals, and project management tools.Familiarity with HSE standards and regulations related to drilling fluid operations.Leadership and Organizational Skills:Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams, ensuring timely and efficient execution.Strong leadership and team management skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners.Communication Skills:Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and internal teams.Ability to prepare clear and concise project reports and presentations.Certifications (preferred):Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification.Certifications in HSE management.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionProduction and EngineeringIndustriesOil and Gas, Chemical Manufacturing, and Wholesale Petroleum and Petroleum Products
