Reporting to the Business Health and Safety Manager, you will be focusing on site HSE management for Egypt - Badar HVDC project, ensuring that the HVDC HSE standards are maintained in accordance with local regulatory requirements and customer requirements, applicable to Hitachi Energy scope of works. This is a limited contract for minimum 2 years.**Responsibilities**:- Acting as an ambassador to represent Hitachi Energy integrity, HSE & Sustainability requirements. Supporting and implementing Hitachi Energy HVDC HSE policies & procedures consistent with legislation, customer & Hitachi Energy requirements.- Participating in the planning of the work and make sure that shared HSE viewpoints are considered when work methods and work equipment are selected, different work tasks are planned especially simultaneous operations as part of site coordination activities. Supporting sites in HSE compliance matters related to communication with Project Team.- Ensuring that the site HSE plan (including the Risk List with identified residual risks) that have been defined in an earlier stage in the site are available and are up to date as soon as the site is established, inclusive of Hitachi Energy equipment supply related risks prior to procurement and installation activities. Conducting regular site inspections or audits to ensure ongoing permits, consent and Hitachi Energy HSE requirements are being maintained, making recommendations for improvement as required.- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of suitable HSE objectives or KPIs set for project site. Pro-actively encourages the site team to identify the hazards & report it at the earlier stage. Pro-actively encourages the site team to do site inspection tours. Producing monthly HSE client and internal reports against predetermined HSE requirements and objectives.- Ensuring that all work is risk reviewed by pre-start meetings & point of work risk assessments before physical works start. Supporting Hitachi Energy site manager in ensuring that only authorized person is given access to the working area. Ensuring all site staff are aware of contact details for advice and support for HSE activities including emergency response requirements.- Facilitating the overall management of HSE related matters throughout each site by supporting site manager. Conducting and delivering regulatory training programs to meet local law and requirements.- Ensuring good collaboration of site HSE teams by establishing and maintaining close contact with Customers HSE representative as well as subcontractor representatives. Initiating and encouraging HSE communication between all hierarchy levels. Ensuring regular exchange with Site Management Team to inform on HSE requirements for the current project phase and to receive good inside on upcoming activities.- All incidents are properly reported according to legal and customer requirements as well as Hitachi Energy internal routines. Reporting site HSE statistics to Project HSE Manager. Ensuring that root causes of incidents and accidents are investigated (close collaboration with assigned investigator). Introduce and supervise corrective actions. Engaging all site staff in hazard reporting by creating awareness for identification of unsafe situation. Maintaining site specific HSE registers.- Demonstrating a strong commitment towards environmental standards, guidelines, and procedures. Cooperatively active with environmental supervisory function on site. Informing on verifying adherence to site specific environmental protection measures.- Planning and Coordinating process for site works to determine specific HSE requirement for upcoming at activities at an early stage. Ensuring that risk assessment or method statement process is followed for all work. Ensuring that training or qualification requirements as well as permit to work requirements are met as applicable. Implementing site HSE routines such as coordination meeting, toolbox talks, last minute risk assessments. Providing support if needed, verify effectiveness.- Conducting site specific induction trainings as defined in HSE plan, special consideration is to be given on collaboration on site and open communication. Planning and executing emergency response drills as applicable for current phase of site execution works.
