Role purpose:The role is responsible for understanding Vodafone Business strategy, market/technology trends, competitive landscape and, working with VBG P&S Senior Strategy Managers, employing this insight to create innovative, practical strategies that will drive growth across the VBG P&S portfolio. The role will be responsible for demonstrating customer focus and external orientation to bring new ideas and thinking to Vodafone Business.This role sits within the VBG P&S Strategy team working along-side VBG Senior Strategy Managers. The role will employ tried and tested methodologies for gathering insight, reviewing strategic options and assessing the most attractive and practical medium and long-term steps for Vodafone that will drive profitable growth above market rates for our portfolio. This role will have a particular focus on market analysis, competitor analysis, understanding customer needs and developing best practice methodologies for portfolio strategy development.The role will be responsible for providing input and agreeing:- Market, competitor and customer analysis that would input into our strategic projects- Running strategic projects - either stand-alone within VBG P&S or jointly providing portfolio leadership into projects led by Group strategy- Business cases for new strategic product ideas, engaging and collaborating with markets to validate the opportunity- Supporting the strategic input for every market's 9+15 planning cycle, ensuring they take into consideration both Global and local market trends- Aligning with VBG P&S Product Managers & Portfolio leads to ensure full alignment and adoption of strategies developed by the teamKey accountabilities and decision ownership- Distil market analysis, customer and competitive intelligence, industry and technology trends into usable insight for compelling strategy formulation, while interlocking the strategy with local markets.- Renowned for being a clear, influential voice among internal stakeholders.- Define strategic guidelines for customer (CX), partner & ecosystem, GTM and commercial strategy for our Mobility services reflecting the product portfolio strategy- Identify opportunities to continually improve the market perception of key capabilities- Core competencies required;- Experience at formulating strategy as part of a product management/ commercial/ marketing position and/or through a management consulting/ strategy role- Understanding of our products and services; high level of commercial expertise is required including understanding of product P&L, unit economics, profitability and product lifecycle management- Strong focus on execution, with a result driven attitude and detail oriented approach, while being comfortable to navigate through ambiguity to define direction and recommendations in an effective and timely manner- Strong capability in articulating complex ideas with authority and making the case for change; Experience at presenting at Board level with customers and internally- Strong presentation and influencing skills and capacity to drive change in a highly complex organisational environment due to dispersed geographies, OpCo based organisational design and multiple stakeholders with different prioritiesMust have technical / professional qualifications:- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications industry with strong focus on Mobility- Team leadership experience and proven ability to operate within a matrix organisation- Honours degree as a minimum- MBA preferable_VOIS
