Firstly, to drive the internal operations of the project to ensure delivery commitments are achieved in line with QCD targets. Secondly, to be the deputy to the Project Director taking the leadership of the Project Management Function in Cairo and the Project Core Team when required.In this role the Project Operations Director will focus his/her attention on those activities to ensure site installation activities can happen according to schedule. S/He will be responsible to pull together the Project Management, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, OPC and Site Installation teams to lead a high-performing team fully focused on delivering the site installation according to Contract Requirements and in line with Budget Targets.In terms of the deputy role, the Project Operations Director will lead the Project Management function in Cairo with the wayside Project Managers reporting into her/him. The Project Operations Director will also have the remit to lead the Project Core Team on the occasions when the Project Director is not on-site due to an increasing requirement to participate in external stakeholder meetings.**Responsibilities**- Lead the Project Management Function in Cairo.- Oversee the Wayside Project Portfolio to ensure material deliveries are achieved and installed according to the required Quality Cost and Delivery timescales.- Work with the Commercial Managemnt Team to secure the Wayside Supply Chain commercial strategy - managing risk and opportunities to minimize the commercial impact to the project.- Drive the Alstom cross functional team to achieve the Site Installation Schedule- Ensure Robust Governance in place for OPC, HSE, Quality and other Site Management activities- Work with Project Controls to establish solid performance management regime including KPIs and Visualization for critical activities- Rapid resolution of design interface issues on-site through close coordination of Site Management and Engineering- Develop reporting mechanisms for both inside and outside of the Project team.**Job Requirement**- 15-20 years of working on complex infrastructure projects with 10 years in a Project Management Capacity- Experience of managing a Client relationship / Client Representative- Operational background, preferably having spent some time leading factory operations- Exceptional project management and leadership skills with high ability of managing multiple stakeholders- Strong Organisational skills. Logical / Lateral thinker with complex problem solving ability.- Presentable to Executive Leadership of the Consortium members and able to report succinctly on complex matters- High knowledge of FIDIC Contract Management principles, Project Scheduling, Claim Management.- High knowledge of Design Interface Management principles (Systems Assurance, System Integration)- Strong business and financial acumen- Has a budgetary skills and able to forecast the project budget and define risks and opportunities- Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of several disciplines within a sub-function and how their processes and resources interact with other disciplines within the sub-function- Demonstrates strong communication and diplomacy skills and the ability to guide, influence and convince others.
