Ims Sbc Engineer

Role purpose:Participate in a wide range of engineering activities related to planning, design, engineering and implementation of SBC network elements including network and services design, planning and budgeting, roadmap development, business case assessment, integration and testing of new nodes and new functionalities, inline with Vodafone Technology Networks recommendations, local market business needs and regional priorities and strategy.Ensure the timely realization of the yearly plan, with fulfilment of defined costs and quality. The role will be focused on both European market SBC infrastructure used for mobile (e.g. VoLTE), Interconnect and fixed services (Residential, Business and Special Customer Solutions) but also on central SBC infrastructure, used for example for RCS (M+/Call+) servicesKey accountabilities and decision ownership:Responsible for the delivery of the infrastructure so that it meets the requirements of Vodafone customers, business units and operations units, including technical management of the platform vendor throughout the process as well as budget planning for short-/mid-/long-term needs.Provide support to the product and solution design during the feasibility phase (HLD). Detailed design of the technical solutions (Low Level Design) impacting the platforms in scope including End to End Service designSBC Layer validation to meet traffic growth and performance targets, offering Vodafone customers a perfect user experienceStimulate the identification of synergy, harmonization and consolidation activities inside the European Region and ensure consistent introduction of new technologies inside the Region. Assess new opportunities and new solutions & functionalities.Work with Network Architecture on the evolution and roadmap of the platform, influencing it to consider real-life use of the platform, to address its limitations, as well as to make them better suited to the needs of Vodafone in terms of cost, efficiency, reliability, scalability, ease of operation, etc.Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:Proven experience and attitude to work in multinational and multicultural teams in a complex large company and matrix environments using agile methodologiesAbility to adapting and manage efficiently changesVery deep knowledge of core network architectures and protocols, with specific reference to the IMS networksSeveral years of experience in planning, design, engineering and testing within a mobile network area of a telecom operatorKnowledge in Virtual, cloud native and containerised deploymentsMust have technical / professional qualifications:**Education**:Degree in electrical / electronic / telecommunications, Software, Computer engineeringExperience & Skills:Voice and data signalling topology, interfaces and protocols. Knowledge of network tracing toolsInter-functional relationships, teamwork, cooperation and time management with good degree of autonomy and ability to self-start on complex deliverables in ambiguous situationsExcellent Communication and analytic skills, ability to explain, enlighten, educate and above all engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Project management capabilities.
