Construction Estimator Datchet, Windsor Contract Basis: £300 - £400 P/D Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for fit-out and refurbishment projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labour, and overheads.
- Bid Management: Collaborate with the bid management team to develop winning proposals. Ensure all estimates are submitted on time and align with project requirements.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms to optimize project costs.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough risk analysis for each project, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Value Engineering: Provide input on value engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency without compromising quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimating activities, ensuring transparency and traceability. You will also be required to build your own scope document based on clients' verbal requests.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools including Excel & MS.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred. You will also require having a good understanding of H&S.
