Our client is a specialised provider of unique hydraulic/electro/mechanical solutions to a range of industries including mining, agriculture, construction and civil infrastructure.Your new role
They are looking to add to their Team and are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee the installation of wash bays at mine sites in the Hunter Valley - current projects located at Maules Creek and Bulga. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the construction process, from the ground up, including piping, valves, conduits, lightning protection, wiring, fittings, water transfer, and detailed earthworks. The mine will handle bulk earthworks and provide a compacted slab for construction.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee the construction of wash bays, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and within the project timeline.
- Manage a team of 4, including 2 Mechanical Fitters, 1 Electrician, and 1 Labourer.
- Coordinate and monitor the installation of piping, valves, conduits, lightning protection, wiring, fittings, and water transfer systems.
- Ensure detailed earthworks are performed accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct site inductions and ensure all team members comply with safety regulations and site-specific requirements.
- Liaise with the mine's bulk earthworks team to ensure a smooth transition to the construction phase.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant standards and regulations.
- Plot size: 20m x 30m.
- Project duration: 4-6 weeks per project (mostly preparation, with 2-3 days of actual construction).
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in supervising construction projects, preferably in a mining environment.
- Valid Mining Supervisors tickets essential (G1, 8, and 9)
- Current Order 43 NSW Coal Board Medical (or willingness to attain one)
- General Glencore Inductions (preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
