Treasurer

The key responsibilities are but not limited to:

1. Comply with Cork Nature Network's governing document.
2. Ensure that Cork Nature Network is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefit.
3. Act in the best interest of the Cork Nature Network.
4. Understand all financial policies and controls and propose any recommendations for change.
5. Oversee compliance and risk management in the organization, evaluating and monitoring the adequacy of financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with best practice principles.
6. Have an overview of the finances to advise the Board on financial implications of proposals, cash flow problems, etc.
7. Oversee compliance and risk management of finances in line with usual board responsibilities.
8. Be an authorized signatory of the Charity and liaise with the bank.
9. Oversee the bookkeeper and ensure bookkeeping systems are kept up to date and in good order.
10. Present the accounts at the AGM and liaise with the CNN accountant.
11. Ensure CNN accounts are sent to the relevant authorities e.g., Revenue, Charity Regulator, Companies Registration Office.
12. Attend board meetings in person or via visual presence; there are approximately 4 board meetings per year.
13. Communicate with the board through the agreed CNN communication channels.
