KBR Technology offers a breadth of technology licenses and process equipment for Ammonia and Fertilizer, Synthesis Gas / Syngas, Olefins, Coal Gasification, Refining, Hydrogen and Organic Chemicals. POSITION DESCRIPTION As a SR Technical Advisor - Olefins in the Houston Technology Center you will be part of a process engineering team to provide plant technical lifecycle support from Basic engineering to plant operation. You will meet directly with the client, handle interdisciplinary meetings and information transfer and provide licensee feedback to improve KBR Olefins technology. Your work will involve conventional engineering and operation practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design and operation requirements, and difficult coordination requirements. Must be willing and available to travel domestically and internationally. REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering required
  2. Minimum of 12+ yrs CURRENT experience in Olefins Process design, optimization and/or operation, with average experience of 15+ yrs experience
  3. Design or operations background in Ethylene is preferred; experience in other Petrochemical processes is a plus
  4. High level of proficiency in using process design simulation software (i.e. Aspen, PROII, etc.) to develop new or revamp designs required
  5. Experience in application of advanced process design techniques to develop and optimize process designs is a plus
  6. Proficiency in conceptual development of process designs, basic economic evaluations, Process Flow Diagrams, equipment capacity evaluation and specification required
  7. Ability to provide supervision to less experienced engineers required
  8. Ability to develop new engineering ideas and concepts needed
  9. Strong English verbal, writing and reading communication skills required
  10. Must have the ability to clearly convey technical concepts and principles in both verbal and written communications to clients, peers and KBR management
  11. Must be willing and available to travel domestic and international, as needed
  12. Ability to lead process engineering team on a basic engineering technology project.
