Who we’re looking for Hyatt’s Legal Department is responsible for protecting the Company's interests by providing long-term strategic and day-to-day operational support. Hyatt is seeking an experienced and proactive Career Paralegal to join, remotely from the UK, their dynamic Zurich-based legal team looking after the EAME region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Zurich based legal team, managing their own workload, and contributing to the smooth operation of the legal function and wider business. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a prestigious hospitality company that stands apart from its competitors. What You’ll Do:
- Corporate governance. Coordinate various corporate governance related matters covering the UK and other jurisdictions within EAME region.
- Due diligence. Conduct comprehensive investigation on the counterparty/ies to a business transaction in order to assess legal risks and document the findings.
- Legal operations. Manage the legal operations function including the legal team’s contract management system and all other legal team work management tools; maintain legal files and records, track deadlines for various agreements, manage internal approval processes, and handle other administrative duties as required.
- Contract review. Draft and review a variety of legal documents and contracts; ensure that all contracts follow group legal standards and company policies.
- Policy. Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
- Commercial services support. Work closely with Senior Counsel in supporting the commercial services team and hotels with brands and marketing related matters, including drafting of relevant contracts.
- 7+ years' experience as a Paralegal, preferably within a hospitality company or large multinational corporation.
- Proven experience in contract review, corporate governance and due diligence.
- Experience in managing workload and working independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across departments, including operations, finance, and HR and across offices located in other regions.
- Unmatched organisational skills and unyielding attention to detail.
- Capable multi-tasker with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn other practice areas and to become familiar with laws of other jurisdictions.
- Willingness to do the detailed-oriented legal work that keeps Hyatt running efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision.
- Fluency in English required (fluency in another European language would be a bonus).
