The Citizens Advice Bureau of Western Australia Inc. (CABWA) is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our Board of Management as Treasurer. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant, CFO, or financial professional looking to expand their expertise and gain valuable board experience while contributing to a respected not-for-profit organisation. Role Overview: As a key member of the Board, the Treasurer provides strategic financial guidance, contributes to decision-making, and helps drive the mission and values of CABWA. As well as playing a pivotal role in assisting and overseeing the financial affairs of CABWA, ensuring the organisation's financial stability, transparency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial oversight and guidance to the Board, ensuring sound financial management and sustainability.
- Assist the Accounts Coordinator with monitoring the organisation’s financial situation, including cash flow, budgets, and financial reporting.
- Review and present financial statements and reports to the Board and stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation of the annual budget, financial audits, and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures to ensure best practices in financial governance.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Accounts Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping.
- Professional qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent is highly desirable).
- Experience as an accountant, CFO, or senior financial professional, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
- Familiarity with the governance and financial responsibilities of not-for-profit organisations.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly to a non-financial audience.
- A commitment to CABWA’s mission and values, with a desire to make a meaningful impact in the community.
