Find out more about us at: The role: We are looking for an experienced designer, ideally a landscape designer or a designer who has experience in landscape design including horticulture/planting plans and ideally with some experience and understanding of basic landscape structures like play structures. As a design team, we work end to end so we are looking for someone to be able to learn our philosophy and approach to the ecology of play, whilst bringing a bespoke and well-crafted design approach to also create outstanding design that would inspire anyone to engage with these spaces. Our design team is focused on winning projects through our strong design narratives and concept designs that are crafted to the environment and play philosophy of our clients and the shaping the experience and ecology of play for children. As such, we have a high-end boutique design approach that is communicated through strong front end concept and presentations with clients. As we build our own landscapes you have the ability to work with the team building it to ensure the quality and desired effects are realized. Our designers work on projects from end to end so you will be involved in briefings to concept, schematic and Design Development, Construction RFI and defects and maintenance. This is a great role for a passionate landscape designer who likes designing spaces that make a difference and having the ability to shape people's lives whilst producing stunning award-winning designs that will be featured across the globe. Key Responsibilities
- Develop design narratives and creative concepts for nature-based, bespoke playgrounds that foster play, learning, and sustainability.
- Work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders from initial briefings to concept design, development approvals (DA), and detailed documentation.
- Conduct site analysis, identifying opportunities and constraints to inform innovative and practical design solutions.
- Create high-quality schematic designs, 3D renderings, and detailed construction documentation using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Incorporate horticultural planning, permaculture principles, and environmental design into playgrounds and outdoor spaces.
- Collaborate with manufacturers, builders, and contractors to ensure your designs translate seamlessly into construction.
- Able to manage multiple projects at one time, ensuring all stages are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
- Relevant design experience or transferable skills in landscape architecture, architecture, playscape design, childcare/education spaces, or related fields.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD , SketchUp , and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of horticultural planning and environmental design principles.
- Experience working across the full design process, including site analysis, concept design, DA processes, and detailed documentation.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- A passion for early learning, play-based education, and creating spaces that help young humans thrive.
- A love for environmental design and sustainability, with an interest in permaculture highly valued.
- Design-related qualifications in landscape architecture, architecture, environmental design, or industrial design.
- Familiarity with development approval (DA) processes and relevant regulations.
