Job Description As the Head of Content, you will be responsible for the management of the content production team within Portfolio 2. You will also be held accountable for the commerciality of conference content in the market, ensuring delegate conference sales and sponsorship sales are maximized. You will be responsible for ensuring the conference team develops and creates an engaged community by producing powerful content for digital initiatives across social media and newsletters as well as the event's main conferences. Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the overall strategic direction of the entire content strategy.
  2. Ensure the conference team meets and exceeds expectations when it comes to world-class content that can be monetized.
  3. In-charge of physical and digital content creation.
  4. Speaker negotiation related to physical events, including multiyear deals.
  5. Ensure value across a large-scale budget including negotiation with speaker agencies.
  6. Managing the production team, including the training of new producers.
  7. Hands on agenda writing for digital and physical products.
  8. Scheduling of the production team across multiple months.
  9. Training of production team in SADCRAB.
  10. Sponsorship direction and sales briefings to the wider team.
  11. Government liaison and technical aspects across all relevant projects.
  12. Oversight of the investor program and budget.
  13. Work with department heads to develop year-round strategies.
  14. Overall team management, appropriate resourcing, coaching and mentorship of team members.
KPI’s
  1. Conference budget management.
  2. Conference attendance and feedback.
  3. Sponsorship revenue.
  4. Timely delivery and quality of conference programs.
  5. Strategy development and delivery.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Project management/commerciality.
  2. Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities of the conference department.
  3. Review performance data to monitor and measure departmental productivity.
  4. Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes.
  5. Review and approve creative briefs, conference brochures and briefs.
People Management
  1. Mentor and provide necessary training to the entire team.
  2. Develop, communicate and manage the bonus structures and KPIs for all team members.
  3. Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work.
Reporting and Communication
  1. Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department.
  2. Maintain transparent communication.
  3. Work closely with the marketing department to ensure quality attendees for the conferences.
  4. Develop new conference ideas, formats and content.
  5. Identify key opinion leaders/institutions for advisory boards.
  6. Develop conference production schedules.
  7. Represent Cityscape at key client and government meetings.
Qualifications Educated to degree level or equivalent. Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  1. Significant experience (8+ years) in conference production.
  2. 2+ years in management role.
  3. Track record of driving client, revenue, and team growth.
  4. Exceptional editing, ideation, and content strategy skills.
  5. Strong business, process development, and people management acumen.
  6. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  7. Knowledge of the property & real estate industry is desirable.
