Job Description
We are looking to recruit an Associate Director, to undertake a role supporting the Commercial Director on one of our prestigious multi-sector based projects. The primary focus of the role is to work with the Commercial Director and the team to grow existing client relationships, identify and secure new clients, and support and manage bids for new work. Contribute to the diversification of the service offer to our clients. Support the Commercial Director to identify and recruit new team members and build teams to successfully deliver commissions. To lead programme and project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery. Act as the key, day-to-day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time, cost targets, and the appropriate quality standards. Manage commissions and resources efficiently to contribute to the overall profitability of the business. Contribute to the overall strategic and operational management of the business. Be specifically responsible for delegated business development/marketing tasks and support the Commercial Director to achieve set strategies.Qualifications
Role requirements:- Take responsibility for successfully developing, supporting and leading client relationships and related commission outputs and deliverable management.
- Set up new and operate existing effective programme processes and systems that enable efficient data collection, management, and benchmarking.
- Lead in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all programme stages where required.
- Understand the client and commission requirements and provide a trusted position that the client can rely upon to deliver.
- Manage commissions under your control to meet client and business objectives.
- Lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team.
- Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives.
- Optimise project staff utilisation.
- Deliver the skills necessary to meet technical objectives for the commission.
- Comply with Business Management System requirements.
- Comply with T&T risk management processes.
- Ensure contracts for services for commissions under your control are in place with all clients/sub-consultants in line with group policy.
- Comply with risk mitigation measures defined in the Commission Execution Plan.
- Lead to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
- Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilised throughout the project.
- Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plan.
- Advise upon the procurement of resources – design and construction.
- Monitor and apply performance management techniques, including the use of KPIs to improve project performance.
- Set up and manage the change control process.
- Monitor and advise upon project finances/budgets.
- Manage the flow of project information between the project team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
- Ensure the production of formal project progress and other reports.
- Implement risk management techniques appropriate to the project.
- Manage and monitor design team in accordance with commission scope.
- Manage and monitor contractor in accordance with commission scope.
- Develop appropriate contractor interface.
- Lead or support business case production as required by the commission scope.
- Minimum 10 - 15 years of relevant working experience in the cost management discipline.
- Degree holder in Quantity Surveying, or related field (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering).
- RICS qualified (MRICS).
- Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects.
- Proactive, quality-driven, self-motivated and hands-on team leader with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential, ability to communicate well with clients and senior management. Ability to manage difficult stakeholders.
- Experience in leading and managing large teams of professionals with a strength in growing and developing people.
- Strong communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge in Real Estate / infrastructure.
