Job details

The role of a HIS Implementation Consultant typically involves managing the implementation and maintenance of InterSystems TrakCare, a healthcare information system and other healthcare information systems such as Cerner, Xehealth, etc. Job Title: HIS Implementation Consultant Reports to: Program Director / IT Director Job Summary: The HIS Implementation Consultant is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to the implementation and optimization of the TrakCare system. This role involves coordinating resources, managing budgets, ensuring timely delivery, and liaising with stakeholders to meet organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management

  • Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for TrakCare system implementation.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, IT teams, and vendors to gather system requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular communication and progress updates to key stakeholders.

System Implementation and Optimization

  • Oversee system configuration, testing, and deployment of TrakCare modules.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the system post-implementation.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT staff, and vendors.
  • Provide direction and support to team members to ensure project success.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure smooth adoption of the TrakCare system.
Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Healthcare Management, or related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification (preferred).

Experience

  • Proven experience managing healthcare IT projects, preferably TrakCare implementations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, data standards, and regulatory requirements.

Skills

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or other project management software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with HIS systems such as Cerner, Epic Systems, XeHealth, Meditech.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Timely delivery of projects within scope and budget.
  • High satisfaction ratings from stakeholders.
  • Minimal post-implementation issues and downtime.
  • Effective risk management and issue resolution.
