Risk Assessment And Management
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in operations, facilities, and digital systems.
- Develop mitigation strategies to address physical, operational, and cyber risks specific to the oil and gas sector.
- Perform regular audits and update security protocols to align with evolving industry standards and threats.
Policy Development And Compliance
- Draft and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to the oil and gas industry.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations (e.g., API, ISO, OSHA).
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements and maintain operational integrity.
Operational Security (OPSEC)
- Design and oversee the implementation of physical security measures for facilities, pipelines, and offshore platforms.
- Develop and execute emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and incident reporting.
- Train employees and contractors on security protocols and situational awareness.
Cybersecurity Integration
- Collaborate with IT teams to secure industrial control systems (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Monitor and respond to cyber threats targeting oil and gas operations.
- Recommend and implement cybersecurity tools and practices for robust digital asset protection.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with law enforcement, government agencies, and third-party contractors to enhance security collaboration.
- Serve as the primary advisor to leadership on security concerns, providing actionable recommendations.
- Conduct regular briefings and workshops for internal teams and stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in security consulting or management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Proven expertise in physical security systems, risk assessments, and emergency planning.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in security tools, software, and risk management frameworks.
