Risk Assessment And Management

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in operations, facilities, and digital systems.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to address physical, operational, and cyber risks specific to the oil and gas sector.
  • Perform regular audits and update security protocols to align with evolving industry standards and threats.

Policy Development And Compliance

  • Draft and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols tailored to the oil and gas industry.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations (e.g., API, ISO, OSHA).
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements and maintain operational integrity.

Operational Security (OPSEC)

  • Design and oversee the implementation of physical security measures for facilities, pipelines, and offshore platforms.
  • Develop and execute emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and incident reporting.
  • Train employees and contractors on security protocols and situational awareness.

Cybersecurity Integration

  • Collaborate with IT teams to secure industrial control systems (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Monitor and respond to cyber threats targeting oil and gas operations.
  • Recommend and implement cybersecurity tools and practices for robust digital asset protection.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with law enforcement, government agencies, and third-party contractors to enhance security collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to leadership on security concerns, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct regular briefings and workshops for internal teams and stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in security consulting or management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven expertise in physical security systems, risk assessments, and emergency planning.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in security tools, software, and risk management frameworks.
