  • A Technology Bid Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the success of technology-based projects by managing the end-to-end bid process. This includes developing competitive proposals, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring that bids meet client requirements while aligning with organizational strategies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1. Bid Management:
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of the bid process, from pre-qualification to submission and post-bid clarifications.
  • Establish bid strategies that align with company objectives and client needs.
  • Manage bid timelines, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard.
2. Cross-functional coordination:
  • Work closely with sales, engineering, IT, finance, procurement, and legal teams to compile accurate and competitive bid responses.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather inputs, identify risks, and define the solution framework.
3. Proposal Development:
  • Lead the creation of compelling technical and commercial proposals tailored to the client's specifications.
  • Ensure that all proposals address client needs and highlight unique selling points (USPs) effectively.
  • Review and refine bid documents to ensure clarity, compliance, and quality.
4. Client Engagement:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the bid process.
  • Address client queries, clarify technical and commercial aspects of the bid, and present proposals where required.
5. Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, client preferences, and competitor strategies.
  • Incorporate insights into bid strategies to maximize win potential.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure bids comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal governance.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the bid process or project delivery.
7. Post-Bid Activities:
  • Participate in bid debriefs to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of bid outcomes and lessons learned for future opportunities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in bid management, preferably within the technology sector.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced certifications are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IT solutions, cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Project or other project management platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with bid management platforms, CRM software, and document automation tools.
