Join to apply for the GENERAL TECHNICIAN (SYSTEM SUPPORT) role at QatarEnergy . Primary Purpose Of The Job: To assist the Business Systems Analyst in providing day-to-day support of SAP and other systems within the Materials Department. The majority of the support is to Materials department personnel (in excess of 300) but it also covers support of users in other departments across the corporation.

  • Ability to resolve operational system problems reported by the end user.
  • To monitor data quality and report errors and inconsistencies.
  • To provide technical support for all areas of Material business. This includes:
    • PC software support and training
    • Network support
    • Lotus Notes support and training
    • Intranet support
    • SAP support and training
    • Materials database systems
  • To provide ad-hoc system reports and data downloads/uploads.
Required Experience And Skills: Minimum 8 years of experience. Must have excellent communication and training skills.
  • An extensive working knowledge of the following is required for this role:
  • SAP Materials Module.
  • Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Access (Minimum 5 years).
  • Lotus Notes.
  • Competent with IT Infrastructure (Desktop HM/ & S/W problems, Network).
  • Web designer.
  • A good understanding of the Supply Chain processes is required.
  • Certification in SAP, MCP, and CCNA is an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills are required to provide the support, training, and produce documentation.
Educational Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Information Management or Business-related fields.
