Senior Avionics Systems Integration Engineer Join Castelion and play a pivotal role in advancing the development of next-generation hypersonic missile systems. As an Avionics Systems Engineer, you'll be part of a cross-disciplinary team responsible for the seamless integration of avionics systems across design, development, testing, and operations. You'll directly impact mission-critical systems that shape national defense and peace through deterrence. Responsibilities
- Lead the integration and operational readiness of avionics systems from initial design and assembly through testing and field operations
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical hardware issues under aggressive development timelines while driving long-term improvements
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, flight operations, and post-flight assessments, ensuring real-time system health monitoring and issue resolution
- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize avionics architectures, reducing mass, cost, and complexity through innovative solutions
- Contribute to the development and validation of advanced avionics capabilities, including power systems, sensors, vehicle networks, RF, and control systems
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in electrical component design, system integration, or electronic testing
- 1+ years of experience using software tools such as MATLAB, Python, or C++
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
- Creative problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance risk and make sound decisions
- Experience diagnosing and repairing avionics systems, including sensors and actuators
- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools
- Software skills to automate test or analysis processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Real-time operations experience in complex systems such as flight tests or other high-consequence environments
- Ability to work onsite and support testing at remote facilities as needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support test campaigns and customer engagements.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
