Senior Ruby On Rails Engineer - Tasmania

The Company This is an E-Learning platform that operates across APAC & EU. This product has a large and fast-growing user base which is mostly B2B. With this growth, they are looking for a new Mid-Senior engineer to join their well-rounded team. With three core products, you will have influence and exposure across the suite. This is a team that has simplicity and innovation at their core, while also making a positive impact to further educate internal staff. The Job You will join a team of 5 engineers in a flat structure and closely communicate with the CTO. You will be responsible for taking ownership of the development and functionality, from concept to release, and work collaboratively with other stakeholders within the business. They are looking for a Ruby on Rails engineer who is interested in getting exposure to new technologies (Node, Go) and implementing best practices and patterns. It requires an engineer with a product mindset and an ability to drive whole features from concept to implementation and delivery. Desired Skills and Experience:

1. 4+ years Ruby on Rails experience – built scalable apps
2. Strong commercial TypeScript experience – React & GraphQL
3. Experience building frontend and backend web products in Rails, React, Node
4. Solid understanding of how to write testable, maintainable code and automate your tests where possible.
5. Proven record working with complex APIs
6. Ability to deal well with non-technical stakeholders
7. Team player who can take on additional responsibilities

1. Experience moving platforms into microservices architecture
2. Worked in Lean and MVP product practices
3. DevOps
4. Experience with B2B product development
