The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner Youth Mental Health (529953d) vacancy. Our Aim: The Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking passionate and dedicated Clinical Lead to provide clinical services to children, young people and their families/significant others experiencing mental health concerns. The position available is within our new teams which are currently being developed as initiatives under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care). The Lead Practitioner will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical leadership to the team. The role will include:- Being part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality mental health services to children, young people, and their families/carers.
- Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
- Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new child and youth mental health services in Tasmania.
- Leading and working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.
- Relocation Assistance and visa support available for the right applicant.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
- Current Working with Children Registration.
- A minimum of 3 years current post graduate experience in child, adolescent and/or youth mental health or relevant field.
- Training in relevant and appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are developmentally appropriate such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
- Current Driver’s License.
