Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori/Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Māori Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori provides strategic advice through:- Leading the development and implementation of the University's Māori academic research and teaching objectives, strengthening Māori content, delivery and methodology.
- Leading and supporting Māori staff and students through new and existing networks, helping mātauraka Māori flourish and furthering places where Māori staff and students can be Māori.
- Developing innovative ways for all students to engage and learn about, and in, te ao Māori.
- Growing our research that engages with te ao Māori.
- Immersion: growing the skills and confidence of staff to work in te reo Māori.
- Teaching, learning and assessment: clear frameworks and support for te reo Māori-medium teaching, learning and assessment.
- Theses and Publications: more staff and students writing, examining and publishing in te reo Māori.
- Policies and practices: providing opportunities for staff to utilise te reo Māori in core work activities.
- have advanced proficiency in te reo and tikaka Māori.
- demonstrate commitment to and expertise in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- have experience in project management, translating strategy into action, influencing organisational practice and contributing to transformative change.
- have excellent oral and written communication and facilitation skills in te reo Māori and English.
