Senior Project Engineer (Renewables)

JD Ross Energy are partnered with a dedicated renewable energy firm. They design, own, and manage a diverse range of solar, battery, and energy infrastructure, delivering intelligent, dependable, and cost-efficient energy solutions. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Senior Project Engineer will oversee engineering activities related to contractual obligations, scheduling, and budgetary considerations for projects involving solar energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Proactively identifying and addressing all technical challenges during project implementation and sourcing specialised technical support as needed.
2. Supporting the Project Manager and Contract Manager by overseeing the Owner Engineer for design reviews and verifying payment milestones throughout the project execution phase.
3. Engaging in Safety in Design, Design Review, Construction Risk Assessment Workshops, and similar meetings.
4. Managing external engineering consultancy services for Energy Storage engineering tasks during the project execution phase.
5. Compiling technical status reports for Energy Storage projects to communicate effectively with team members and other internal and external stakeholders.
6. Visiting project sites to establish strong relationships with the EGPA Site Team, supporting construction and commissioning efforts, and collaborating closely with contractors to resolve technical challenges.
7. Assessing sites and pinpointing critical site-specific risk factors.
8. Drafting the Scope of Works for Energy Storage projects, which includes technical specifications, and facilitating technical alignment with various contractors. Assisting in negotiations with the selected contractor and coordinating the technical schedules of the project contract.

YOU WILL HAVE:

1. Degree in Electrical engineering or other relevant technical discipline.
2. 4+ years’ experience in Project Engineering or other relevant area ideally in Renewables.
3. Experience with delivering Renewable Energy Projects.
4. Strong client and stakeholder relationship building skills.
