Location: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Perth Metropolitan Unit/Division: Child and Adolescent Health Service > Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time, Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time This is a pool for permanent and fixed term appointments to various CAMHS Service Areas. About Our Team: The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice, and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges. About the Role: As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will deliver individualized care using a problem-oriented approach and act as an advocate for patients, consumers, and other members of the health care team to achieve health goals. As a Clinical Nurse with CAMHS, you will coordinate team activities, supervise, and act as a resource for nursing staff in the assessment of patients and development and implementation of care plans. What you will bring:
- Preferably 3 or more years of experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse; applicants with differing work and lived experience may also be considered.
- Experience working with children and adolescents is also preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others and provide clinical knowledge to enable staff in delivering quality patient care.
- A keen interest to upskill your clinical and leadership skills.

- Answer the following questions that relate to the selection criteria on the Job Description Form, using no more than 500 words for each question:
- Provide a recent (within the past 2 years) example demonstrating your clinical knowledge and experience working in mental health nursing. (Essential Criteria 2)
- Provide an example of how you have demonstrated any two of the CAHS values in your practice: Compassion, Collaboration, Equity, Respect, Excellence, and Accountability.
- Provide an example that best demonstrates your leadership skill in your area of specialty. Your example can be related to quality improvement, mentoring of staff, managing caseloads, or running clinics or groups. (Essential Criteria 5)
- A copy of your current CV outlining your most recent and relevant work experience.
- Evidence of current registration by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. (Essential criteria 1)
- Provide the names and email contact details of two professional referees ; they should be a current or recent previous (within the last 2 years) Line Manager. Please note we do not accept colleagues as a professional reference.
- Community CAMHS – Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.
- Specialist Services and Day Programs – The Specialist Services and Day Programs consist of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways, and Touchstone. These programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs.
- Acute CAMHS – Acute CAMHS, based at Perth Children’s Hospital has a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric Inpatient In-Reach Team (PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service, and Gender Diversity Service.
- The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
- Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
- Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/03/2026.
