Job Summary: The Healthcare Assistant plays a pivotal role in creating a caring environment in which residents' quality of life is promoted. Successful candidates will be required to deliver personal care and assistance to residents in the nursing home. Job Details/Benefits:

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, always promoting their equality and dignity.
  • Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living, which may include washing, toileting, dressing, dining, social activities, and communication support.
  • Respect the privacy and dignity of all residents and promote their independence.
  • Provide particular attention and assist residents who have limited mobility.
  • Understand and observe care plans, alerting nurses immediately regarding any changes in the physical and mental state of the residents.
  • Report immediately any incident or potential incident which may compromise the health and safety of residents or visitors.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Communicate effectively with all residents and their relatives/representatives.
  • Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
Requirements:
  • Minimum partial QQI Level 5 Award - Healthcare or equivalent
  • Elder care experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent personal care abilities
OR
  • Nursing Degree / Allied Health Degree / Relevant Healthcare Degree
