Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager

TechHeads is currently seeking an experienced Business Continuity Manager to enhance our clients' resilience by developing and implementing robust Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies. This role has emerged from the Third-Party Risk function and will be critical in ensuring business operations can withstand and recover from disruptions. In this position, you will work closely with various departments to assess risks, document key processes, and develop and test comprehensive continuity plans . Key Responsibilities
  • Develop & Update BCP & DR Strategies – Design and implement an updated, organisation-wide business continuity plan.
  • Engage with the Business – Meet with different teams to understand and document critical BAU (Business-As-Usual) processes .
  • Risk Assessment & Scenario Planning – Identify potential failure points (e.g., cyberattacks, infrastructure outages) and create clear response plans .
  • Process Documentation & Testing – Ensure detailed documentation of continuity processes, conduct regular simulations , and facilitate annual testing .
  • Incident Response Leadership – Act as the Incident Manager , ensuring swift coordination and delegation of responsibilities during disruptions.
  • Collaboration with IT & Infrastructure Teams – Work with IT and security teams to confirm that technology solutions align with business resilience needs .
  • Stakeholder Communication & Compliance – Ensure leadership and business units understand their role in maintaining business continuity.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Strong Business Engagement Skills – Ability to influence and educate stakeholders on BCP importance.
  • Incident Management Experience – Preferably lived through a major incident (e.g., malware attack, system failure).
  • Industry Knowledge – Experience in transport, logistics, or semi-state/public sector environments is highly beneficial.
  • Strategic & Hands-On – Comfortable planning long-term resilience strategies while also executing practical solutions .
  • Technical Understanding (without direct responsibility for tech) – Awareness of cloud backups, system replication, and IT recovery processes to liaise effectively with tech teams.
