As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Mining, you will be responsible for supporting, managing and delivering aspects of our mining projects supported by our technical subject matter experts - SMEs. You will manage small project teams while contributing to the growth of our Geosciences geotechnical business, as part of the Worley Consulting APAC Geosciences practice. What you’ll do The role responsibilities include:- Actively promotes and leads a culture of zero harm and safety focus within the Worley Consulting business.
- Support the growth of our Geosciences business through sound project delivery and effective client engagement.
- Actively and effectively participate in business development initiatives.
- Contribute to and support developing and implementing our Geosciences strategy and tactics framework.
- Work collaboratively with other parts of the Worley business to support future opportunities.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with selected contractors, clients, and other personnel.
- Ensure that team and project members follow corporate safety, quality, business development, and engineering procedures.
- Work across the following elements of a geotechnical project life cycle:
- Strategy, optioneering and concept geotechnical designs.
- Planning, execution, supervision and management of field geotechnical investigations.
- Utilize a range of numerical modelling applications.
- Geotechnical interpretation and design using industry accepted methodologies.
- Relevant experience in mining operations and/or consultancy.
- Tertiary qualification related to geotechnical engineering or rock mechanics.
- Registration with appropriate professional institution(s).
- Business development skills.
- Experience in the study, design and operations of both open pit and underground mines.
- Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing geotechnical models and inputs.
- Experience in numerical modelling applications.
- Experience in the preparation of geotechnical reports.
- The ability to travel locally and internationally to project sites.
- Full working rights in Australia and an unrestricted Australian driver’s license.
